App Store subtitle character limit
The subtitle limit is 30 characters. Subtitle length uses that same cap.

Subtitle length: how the 30 characters are used in search
Apple indexes the subtitle. It sits under your app name on the product page, so it is both a search field and a line shoppers read.
Do not repeat the app name. Those words are already indexed. Use the 30 characters for a second term or a plain description of the job the app does.
The subtitle ships with a version. If you need a line you can change without a build, that is promotional text, and it is not indexed.
Examples that fit
-
“Record, transcribe, share” (25)
Three job words. No brand.
-
“Meal plans for busy weeks” (25)
Benefit, not a keyword list.
-
“Invoices, estimates, payments” (29)
Uses the full idea without filler.
-
“Offline maps for hiking” (23)
Specific use, still short of 30.
What to do next
When the length passes, check the live listing or draft the field with Nakxi. Neither step changes your rank by itself.
FAQ
What is the App Store subtitle character limit?
30 characters, including spaces and punctuation. App Store Connect rejects a subtitle longer than that. This page is the subtitle limit and the subtitle length check. They are the same 30-character cap.
Does the subtitle show up in App Store search?
Yes. Apple indexes the subtitle along with the app name. It also appears under the name on the product page. Promotional text and the long description are not indexed.
Should I repeat my app name in the subtitle?
No. The name is already indexed. Repeating the brand spends characters you could use for a second keyword or a clearer benefit.
Can I change the subtitle without an app update?
You can edit it in App Store Connect, but it goes out with a version release. Promotional text is the field you can change without shipping a new version. The promotional text checker covers that 170-character field.
