App name length: how the 30 characters are indexed

The app name is the strongest App Store search field. It is indexed, and it is the largest text on the product page.

Put the brand first, then one keyword if it still reads like a name: “Fieldnote: Meeting Notes”. A stack of unrelated terms can be rejected even when the count is under 30.

Extra terms belong in the subtitle (30, indexed) or the keywords field (100, indexed, hidden). They do not belong in a second copy of the name.

Examples that fit

  • “Fieldnote: Meeting Notes” (24)

    Brand plus one category.

  • “Paddle: Invoice Maker” (21)

Brand, colon, job to be done.

  • “Trailmark Offline Maps” (22)

    Brand and keyword, no punctuation.

  • “Lumen Sleep” (11)

Short on purpose. Room left if you need it.

What to do next

When the length passes, check the live listing or draft the field with Nakxi. Neither step changes your rank by itself.

Yes. The app name is the strongest App Store search field. The subtitle and the hidden keywords field are indexed too. The description is not.
